Do you really know what is SEO?
SEO is essential to marketing any online business. If you want your business's site to be successful on the internet, first, you need to make potential clients come to your site. It may sound pricey thinking about spending a huge chunk of your budget on online advertising and such, however there is a more cost efficient and better way to doing this. This method is called SEO, an acronym for Search Engine Optimization.

Search Engine Optimization is a mix of techniques that places your more search engine friendly that can ultimately bring your site to the top page of search results.

The first step is to find your keyword. The keyword should highly relate to your business's site. One of the best methods to find the ideal keyword is to find a word that has a high volume of searches monthly with low competition. Low competition is idea because it will make the SEO process much faster since there are less sites you need to pass in the result pages. Another aspect that cannot be ignored is the search volume. To maximize the potential of having your site be seen by many people is that your keyword must be searched often.

Now that you have your keyword chosen, you need to saturate your site with this specific keyword to rank well in search engines. To start optimizing your website here are a few basic tricks that you edit into your website.

1) The very first thing that needs to be done is placing your keyword tag in your webpage title. So between and make sure you have your site's name and a good description with your specific keyword.

2) Use useful tags in your HTML and image names. If you are naming a gallery page for example, place in your keyword into the title: gallery-keyword.html. This also applies to JPG/GIF tags.

3) If you have many images in your webpage, make sure you use alt tags so that search engines can pick it up while looking for images (since they cannot "see" these images). Also, it contributes to your keyword saturation.

4) Finally, work on your back links. The more back links you have the higher your page rank is. To start building your back links (which is basically sites linking to your sites), submit to several directories. Another easy method to gain quick back links are through social bookmaking with sites such as Digg. These sites allow you to submit your site's link which are posted instantly.

These are the basic outlines that should be followed if you want to make your site search engine friendly. Of course it takes several months and a lot of tedious work before you can reach the top page. Your site has to be saturated with pages of keywords along with thousands of back links if you want to rank well. There are also SEO experts that can do this for you. However, SEO takes time, expert or no expert, patience is the key to ranking well.
