Here is what the developer of the extension has to say about it: Adds right-click context menu items for shrinking links with ShrinkThisLink.com - pops up resulting shrunk link in a new window, to leave you on the site you’re browsing. Adds context menu items for text input box selections and URL/address bar, in addition to existing context menu items. It couldn’t get much easier. All you have to do is right click on a link, and choose “Shrink This Link”. After that, a window will pop up with the new shorter URL for that Web address.
